The UNITROL 1020 is a voltage regulator in the UNITROL 1000 series designed for use in small and medium-sized synchronous generators and industrial machines.
Excitation voltage regulator is a kind of power regulator, which is mainly used in the power system to precisely regulate and control the excitation current of the generator. Its function is to keep the output voltage of the generator stable to adapt to the load change and stabilize the system voltage.
The excitation voltage regulator can be divided into three categories: semiconductor analog excitation regulator, microcomputer (including programmable controller) digital excitation regulator and hybrid microcomputer (including programmable controller) analog excitation regulator.
Main role
1, maintain the generator terminal voltage at the given value, when the generator load changes, by adjusting the strength of the magnetic field to maintain the machine terminal voltage.
2, reasonable distribution of reactive power distribution between parallel running units.
2, improve the stability of the power system, including static stability, transient stability and dynamic stability.
