The VMIVME-7750 accepts a 144-pin SDRAMSODIMM with a maximum memory capacity of 512 MB. This DRAM is a dual-port VME.
BIOS: The system and video BIOS provide flash memory in a reprogrammable manner. The to VME bridge has the ability to generate non-maskable interrupts (NMI) over PCI SERR# lines. Table 3-5 describes the NMI. SERR interrupts are logically routed back to the NMI input line on the CPU. The CPU reads the NMI status control register to determine the NMI source (bit set to 1). The NMI Enable and real-time clock registers can mask the NMI signal and disable/enable all NMI sources. The VMIVME-7698 integrates the SMC super input/output chip.
The SMC chip offers the VMIVME-7698 with a standard floppy disk drive controller and two 16550UART compatible serial ports. The Ultra IDE hard drive interface is Intel 82371EB (PIIX4E) PCI ISA IDE Xcelerator chip. All ports are in their standard PC/AT locations with default interrupts. Not all SVGA monitors support resolutions above 640 x 480 and refresh rates of 60 Hz.
Don’t try to drive your monitor’s resolution or refresh rate beyond its capabilities. Networking functions are provided by Intel’s 82559. This Ethernet controller is PCI bus based and software configurable. The VMIVME-7698 supports 10BaseT and 100BaseTx Ethernet.
