Heat exchange The C1854A supports heat exchange. It can be replaced online without causing any interference to other units connected to the CEX bus. After hot removal and subsequent insertion, the unit is automatically configured. In a redundant configuration, backup units can be replaced without disturbing the primary unit.
This includes being able to replace the device online if it fails. To support heat exchange, no configuration is required. Hot Configuration in Operation (HCIR) During hot configuration in operation, slave devices can be configured online without the need to initialize PROFIBUS communication.
While circular communication remains active, new or changed configurations are downloaded to the slave device. If the slave device supports HCIR, you can add or remove I/O units online. During the reconfiguration, the cyclic data transfer between the C1854/C1854A and the slave stops.
The CI854/CI854A holds the input value and the slave holds the output value. After the reconfiguration is complete, the cyclic data transfer is based on the new configuration data.
