REC670 is used for the control, protection and monitoring of different types of bays in power networks. The IED is especially suitable for applications in control systems where the IEC 61850–8–1 Ed 1 or Ed 2 station bus features of the REC670 can be fully utilized. It is used for station-wide interlocking via GOOSE messages and vertical client-server MMS communication to a local station or remote SCADA operator workplace. This supports the architecture with distributed
control IEDs in all bays with high demands on reliability. Redundant communication is obtained through the built-in PRP feature which can be used in star or ringbus architectures. REC670 can be used on all voltage levels. It is suitable for the control of all apparatuses in any type of switchgear arrangement.

REB670 achieves the perfect combination of speed and stability, which is particularly important for busbar protection. For most regional faults, REB670 can operate in a very short time, typically 12ms, regardless of the number of intervals connected on the bus. At the same time, for out-of-area faults, even if the CT is heavily saturated, it can still ensure extremely stable. Due to its unique measurement principle, the REB670 device requires less master CT than other digital differential protection devices and can share a set of CT with other protection devices, thus effectively reducing costs. As long as CT is not saturated within 2ms in a cycle, REB670 ensures stable and correct action. At the same time, REB670 is extremely sensitive to faults in the area, protecting your electrical installations from all kinds of damage and reducing repair time accordingly. In addition, REB670 can quickly detect and correctly remove a variety of developmental or transformational faults.

REB670 is pre-configured with various functions and logic, type tested and default parameters, so that the product is easy to order, easy to set, fast to debug, and reliable operation. The REB670 is available in three different full-function configurations, including three-phase and split-phase configurations. REB670 is suitable for mother-difference protection from 4 to 24 sets of CT inputs, with two sections of low-impedance differential protection per unit and bus-protected area selection. Using the debugging software PCM600’s graphical editor, the preconfigured REB670 can be easily and intuitively reconfigured to meet specific busbar protection requirements.
