The protection function also supports various types of networks, such as neutral ungrounded, arc suppression coil grounded, and partially grounded networks. Its application scope also covers the protection and control of medium-sized three-phase asynchronous motors and reactive power compensation shunt capacitor banks. In addition to protection, measurement, control, condition monitoring and general functions, the REF615 feeder terminal provides a large number of PLC functions, which allows the multiple automation and sequential logic control functions required for substation automation to be integrated in a single unit.
Data communication supports the following communication standards: SPA bus protocol, LON bus protocol, IEC 60870-5-103 protocol, IEC 61850 supported by SPA-ZC 400, Profitbus DPV1 protocol supported by SPA-ZC 302, DNP 3.0 and Modbus for upper devices Communication protocol. In addition, the LON communication protocol combined with PLC functionality reduces the need for hard wiring between feeder terminals.
